Expected in theaters on July 24, 2024, will Deadpool and Wolverine be able to honor the irreverence of his character dressed all in red? Yes, the first images dropped at CinemaCon!

After a 2023 overloaded with Marvel productions, Disney has decided – for this year – to reduce the pace… Until next December, superhero fans will only be entitled to three live-action films: Kraven the Hunter and Venom The Last Dance, dedicated to the two supervillains, but also (and especially) Deadpool and Wolverine, expected in theaters on July 24, 2024. This is the third feature film dedicated to the “hero” which is released joke after joke. A return to cinema, six years after Deadpool 2, featuring the comeback of Hugh Jackman in the role of Logan. In short, aficionados really can’t wait any longer! The project was initially announced in 2018.

Some concerns…

But this return is however shrouded in concerns. Yes, for Deadpool and Wolverine, Disney is now in charge. The big-eared firm bought 20th Century Fox in 2019, the production company behind the first two opuses… Consequently: it is Mickey who is responsible for the anti-hero played by Ryan Reynolds and – to the era – many thought the operation would mark the end of the borderline Deadpool. But images revealed during CinemaCon are reassuring!

…Who have vanished

Indeed, during the famous American show, media such as Variety were able to watch nine minutes of Deadpool and Wolverine. The famous site talks about an excerpt that is both “vulgar and hilarious”, filled with meta jokes on the Rated R classification – minors must be accompanied by an adult – of the project! The anti-hero, accustomed to breaking the fourth wall, even addresses the viewer to say that the only thing decreed “off limits” by Kevin Feige (president of Marvel Studios) is cocaine. So no… Ryan Reynolds won’t be able to do quite what he wants in Deadpool and Wolverine. As a reminder, the character will have to answer here to the Tribunal of Anachronic Variations, responsible for monitoring the realities of the multiverse. The agent Mr. Paradox will offer him the chance to become a “real” hero.
