The author behind the Harry Potter saga is once again opposed to the positions taken by the stars of the film adaptation of her work.
JK Rowling tackles Harry Potter stars
On X/Twitter, author JK Rowling reacted to the publication of Cass Report, a long survey carried out by Doctor Hillary Cass for NHS England, the British health service, which aims to highlight the state of national services dedicated to supporting transgender people under the age of 18. According to Dr. Cass, the country’s transgender adolescents have been assisted in their transition on a “remarkably weak foundation.”
JK Rowling, who has been attacked numerous times for her positions deemed transphobic, reacted to the publication of this report by sharing a long thread on X/Twitter. In this series of messages, she targets her opponents and people who have so far defended what she believes correspond to “serious medical errors”. A user replied to this thread saying: “I am now waiting for Dan and Emma (Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, the main actors of the Harry Potter films, editor’s note) to send you a sincere apology publicly… I am sure you will forgive them“. The author then replied: “”Nothing is certain, I’m afraid. Celebrities who have rallied behind a movement to erode women’s hard-won rights and used their platforms to encourage the transition of minors can save their excuses for traumatized detransitioners and vulnerable women dependent on single-sex spaces.

Positions that divide fans
Without explicitly citing them, JK Rowling therefore attacks Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, who both openly opposed the author’s positions. In addition, many fans of the Harry Potter universe now repudiate the author after her various comments regarding transidentity. For a large part of the fanbase, the Harry Potter universe carries messages of kindness which absolutely do not correspond to JK Rowling’s positions.
