This 20-year-old actress received praise from this director for her latest film which will soon be broadcast on Netflix.
Millie Bobby Brown has enjoyed great popularity since his role in the Netflix series Stranger Things. It was therefore at the age of 12 that she became the star of this now cult production from the scarlet streaming platform. She plays the role of Eleven, a mysterious young girl with psychic powers. With the actors’ and writers’ strike that took place in Hollywood last summer, production of the fifth and final season was significantly delayed. It resumed a few months ago, which gives fans hope for a return of the iconic series by 2025.
The actors of Stranger Things all took the time to say goodbye to this series that made them known. However, Millie Bobby Brown’s comments regarding the end of Stranger Things did not please everyone. The latter said she was looking forward to moving on to focus on other projects. She notably wrote a novel entitled Dix-Neuf Marches, and is starring in several programs, including The Lady and the Dragon which will soon be broadcast on Netflix. The director of this production also praised this 20-year-old actress, highlighting her impressive talent.
The Lady and the Dragon director praises Millie Bobby Brown
On Netflix, a medieval fantasy feature film will soon see the light of day. This is The Lady and the Dragon (Damsel in original version) directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to whom we owe in particular 28 Weeks Later. Millie Bobby Brown plays the main role, where she plays Princess Elodie who sees her life turned upside down during her marriage to a prince. While she thought she was celebrating this union, she discovers that she has, in reality, been chosen to be sacrificed to a dragon. She therefore finds herself in a gloomy cave where she will have to do everything to try to survive against this creature as imposing as it is merciless.
In an interview with SFX magazine, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo talks about the talent of Millie Bobby Brown and the perfect esteem for the role. According to him, this film evokes the passage to adulthood of a young woman, which corresponds to the current life of the 20-year-old actress. Putting herself in the role of the princess was therefore a very easy exercise for her. A performance which left the director completely admiring :
She takes you on this journey and makes you feel what she experiences. Only great actors are able to draw you in and make you feel that you are with them, that you are suffering, that you are sweating, that you are fighting. She is fantastic. We were very lucky to have her because she is not only capable of playing this kind of physical role, but she is also very sensitive to the nuances and subtle details of the story.
