If you have played Helldiverse II, you know that explosions are not a rarity. Between Eagle Strikes, Orbital Strikes, various rocket launchers and grenades, you’ll have enough to blow up absolutely anything you want in the game, and you’ll need it. From the tutorial, you will also be taught how to use your grenades to destroy Terminid nests, and you will quickly understand that throwing them into the air vents of Automaton factories will give you the same result. But did you know that your grenades can also be used to collect more loot?
While exploring the map in any Helldivers II mission, you will sometimes come across notable sites showing some human activity. Sometimes you’ll just find the corpses of your fallen comrades, but other times you’ll see what looks like little blue houses. Often, you will be able to collect some ammunition or even samples by walking around. But have you noticed that some of these houses also come with a blue or orange container ? Usually embedded in a piece of land below, these can be opened using your grenades or any other explosive. Inside, you can collect extra loot which can take the form of a support weapon or resources like Requisition ticketsof the samplesof the medals or even super credits ! The next time you come across a remarkable site, don’t forget to look for a container to open with a grenade.
If the smartest among you may have already noticed the famous containers to open with an explosion that we have just talked about, you may not have found this little secret that allows you to make your grenade a small nuclear bomb. If you play on intermediate or advanced difficulties, you must have experienced a moment where you were trying to flee a group of Terminides who didn’t seem to want to let you go. Depending on the planet, you might be able to remedy this problem with a simple grenade.
Indeed, certain planets offer kinds of well which you can find by looking towards the ground or paying attention to the smoke escaping from it. While you could of course fall into it to meet certain death, you could also use it to cause a huge explosion. Indeed, when throwing a grenade inside, the blast will be so great that it will resemble an explosive ploy, which could well eliminate a lot of opponents. Be careful, however, not to throw an impact grenade inside and run immediately after it to avoid getting caught in the explosion! Note that each well can only cause one explosion, but there are usually multiple wells per mission area.
