What is the Judge Function in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple used for?
If you know a little about the Pokémon license, you are probably already familiar with the concept of IV. But in case you need a quick recap, the IV are numerical values assigned to your Pokémon and which can go from 0 to 31. Pokémon have 6IVeach corresponding to a statistic, and each point grants 1 bonus point in the associated statistics. For example, if your Pokémon has 31IV in statistics Defensehe will have 31 bonus Defense points. These values are set randomly when you encounter a Pokémon, but they can be transferred via the reproduction thanks to a Destiny Knot or influenced by the Ultimate Training if your Pokémon are at least level 50.
However, to see the details of the IV of your Pokémon, you must have access to the Judge function. This feature started in Pokémon X and Ywhere an NPC could judge your Pokémon to see their potential and determine if they had any IV to 31. - Exceptional: IV to 31

Note that some players do not have access to the Judge function immediately after completing the main storyline of the game. For some, you first have to beat the Pokémon Leagueand above all overcome Menzi to unlock the Judge function.
