Hundreds of volunteer firefighters in Upper Austria again had a short night. Around midnight, a storm front coming from Bavaria and Salzburg reached Upper Austria and quickly spread across the state south of the Danube. People were also injured in the storm.
Within a few minutes, numerous calls from the Braunau district were received by the Upper Austria provincial warning center and gave a first impression of the approaching storm front. At the Traunsee, the water rescue had to save a person from the sailing boat in the storm. In the Braunau, Vöcklabruck and Gmunden districts, around 3,000 people were without electricity in the morning.
