The Nintendo Switch OLED model is finally available in stores. You can secure the new console at various retailers. The price of the OLED switch varies between 350 and 500 euros, depending on the retailer.

Most of the time the devices are sold out, but in December you have a few options again. Amazon France is offering the Switch OLED at a particularly affordable price – for 320 euros. If the console is supposed to be a Christmas present, the package from France will not arrive on time. Amazon also sells the device in this country – for 360 euros. Saturn and Lidl charge just as much and will probably get the console before Christmas. Every now and then we get the console displayed at GameStop for 350 euros.

At Amazon, prices vary a lot. If the retailer offers consoles themselves, you can buy them for prices between 350 and 370 euros. If it is out of stock there, other retailers do not shy away from charging just under 500 euros. Then better not buy and be patient. Keep checking the following links:

You should ignore offers like those from Proshop and Computeruniverse, because with prices of more than 400 euros, the console is simply too expensive there. Unfortunately, switch OLEDs are repeatedly priced too high.

Avoid scalper madness

And it is really worthwhile to regularly check availability and follow up on information, because new consoles are currently mostly out of stock, also due to the delivery bottlenecks during the corona pandemic.

So-called “scalpers” then also try to buy up coveted new products quickly in order to then offer them again at much more expensive prices. The result: Real fans often no longer get a device and some of them get involved in the brazen scalper prices on platforms like eBay. At the moment, gamers who want to buy a PS5 or Xbox Series X are particularly affected.

Does all of this scare you off or not? Vote in our survey whether you will buy the Switch OLED. The imminent risk of burn-in on the display may influence your decision.

Transferring data

Maybe you’ve already received your console and want to transfer the data from your old switch to the new model. In the linked article we describe what you have to consider. It’s not that simple.
