With the E-MTB Reveant, Nireeka presents an e-bike innovation. The price is particularly interesting: the carbon wheel with ABS only costs around 2,000 euros.

- As part of an Indiegogo campaign, manufacturer Nireeka is offering a full-suspension E-MTB for €2,280.
- For this price you get a (too) powerful Bafang motor, ABS and a carbon frame. A legal version in Germany is also available.
- Hydraulic disc brakes and integrated LED light are also part of the equipment.
When looking at the Nireeka Revenant, the first thing that comes to mind for many observers is the price: it could be expensive, so the obvious assumption. Especially when you look around for something comparable among the e-bike innovations of the year and realize that full-suspension (140 millimeters of spring travel) e-mountain bikes from well-known brand manufacturers often cost well over 4,000 euros.

The Revenant will also cost significantly more. After completion of the crowdfunding campaign, at least 3,000 euros are due. The price seems fair given what’s on offer. But the manufacturer is currently offering the e-bike at a much lower price as part of a crowdfunding campaign. If you buy it now, you only pay 2,022 euros for the e-mountain bike and you can pick it up from February 2023.
Participating in crowdfunding campaigns is not without risk for you. It should be noted, however, that this is not the Canadian manufacturer’s first crowdfunding campaign since 2017. Three comparable financing rounds have already been successfully completed and bikes have been delivered to over 60 countries.
With ABS and a powerful Bafang motor
The more powerful version of the Revenant is not approved for use on public roads in Germany. You are only allowed to ride the e-bike on private property or in bike parks, because the built-in Bafang motor is too powerful at 1,000 watts. And the supported maximum speed of 56 km/h is well above the legally permitted limit. However, a version with a 250 watt motor that complies with German regulations is also available.

For cost reasons, the e-mountain bike does not have the usual mid-engine, but a hub motor with a torque of 85 Newton meters in the rear wheel. The manufacturer specifies the battery range as up to 80 kilometers. The ABS module is not contributed by Bosch, but by the manufacturer Blubrake. The positioning of the control unit on the front fork is unusual.

The regular retail price of the Nireeka Revenant with a 1,000 watt Bafang motor is 3,278 euros after the crowdfunding campaign has ended. You can currently secure the e-bike as part of the Indiegogo campaign for 2,280 euros. The version with a 250-watt motor that is legal in Germany costs 2,022 euros as part of crowdfunding, later around 3,000 euros.
