The joy about the supposedly planned comeback of the "No Angels" is great. But what is Vanessa Petruo doing and why is she not returning as the only member of the original cast?
It would be the comeback of the year and would cause numerous fans to burst into cheers: The "No Angels", the most successful German girl group to date, which emerged from the first German season of the casting show "Popstars" in 2000, are working on one, according to "Bild" Return. The only downer: Vanessa Petruo, 41, is not there this time either!

When they came back in 2007, the band celebrated their reunion with Lucy Diakovska, 44, Sandy Mölling, 39, Nadja Benaissa, 38, and Jessica Wahls, 43, as a four. At that time Vanessa decided against a return to the "No Angels" in favor of her solo career. In the meantime, however, the reasons are different.
After the unsuccessful attempt to continue her old successes as a solo artist and a few smaller excursions into the acting industry, Vanessa embarked on a completely new path in 2014. Probably also because the psychological pressure in the music industry became too much for her and she lacked the "intellectual input", as she revealed in an interview with "Spiegel".

New life in the USA
From then on she wanted to withdraw from the public and study psychology. After completing a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in cognitive neuroscience in Dresden, she worked in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Dresden University Hospital. She gave a final glimpse into her professional career in 2015 in the MDR report "My second chance".
Vanessa then did her doctorate and emigrated to the USA. Since 2020 she has been working as a doctoral candidate at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Now she calls herself Vanessa Anneliese Petruo-Zink. Whether the former singer is now married can be assumed based on the surname, but this information is not confirmed. Vanessa is also very cautious on social media and has no public account on Instagram or Facebook.
So unfortunately it all looks like the fans will have to do without Vanessa at the "No Angels" in the future.
