Tesla has sharply increased its electricity prices in Germany. Significantly more per kilowatt hour is now being generated at the superchargers for e-cars. This is the third price increase within a year.
Tesla: Electricity for e-cars 23 percent more expensive
Tesla drivers in Germany now have to dig much deeper into their pockets to recharge their electric cars. Since Monday, the Supercharger price has been significantly higher than before. Now depending on the amount of electricity consumed between 69 and 71 cents per kilowatt hour required. It used to cost 56 to 58 cents. It is therefore a price increase of up to 23 percent (source: Teslamag.de).
It’s the third increase in a year. Prices last rose in March 2022, previously customers were asked to pay more in December 2021. The previous and current price increase also affect other countries like Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France and Norway. Unlike in the past, Tesla itself did not announce the increase itself.
For owners of other electric cars, Tesla’s superchargers are now also becoming more expensive. At the 25 of a total of 138 locations, the prices are now from 70 to 71 cents 80 to 82 cents per kilowatt hour been increased. It is currently still unclear what prices external customers who have a Tesla subscription for monthly 12.99 euros can expect. So far, this has paid off after just 87 kilowatt hours per month.

Customers at EnBW get away cheaper than at Tesla, where as before 55 cents per kilowatt hour be required without a subscription. In the current year, prices should not be increased, as EnBW explained at the end of 2021. The competition from Allego currently makes customers pay 85 cents per kilowatt hour for fast chargers with more than 50 kW. A new app that offers charging current at a bargain price provides a remedy.
