Actually, at the beginning of the year it was still said that the project would progress quickly. But even if only the boldest optimists thought at the time that they could chill out at the planned water bay in the summer, one could have expected that at least something from the “UfA” project would be implemented at the Urfahraner market area. The project by the architects’ collective GUT (Gerald Anton Steiner, Urmann Radler Architekten, Tp3 Architekten), which is to be implemented instead of the original, failed idea of an island – they wanted to have the area washed around by a side arm of the Danube – is still in the queue. “Unfortunately, nothing has happened recently in this matter because the country’s water law authority has reservations about the project,” said SP city boss Klaus Luger in an interview with “Krone”.
