NordVPN completes its offer with an antivirus

On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, NordVPN adds a new feature to its offer: an antivirus. Integrated into the VPN service application, on macOS and Windows, the tool aims to protect users from Internet threats.

Trackers, malicious ads and infected files are the targets of a new antivirus feature rolled out by NordVPN (which is celebrating its 10th anniversary). Directly integrated into the NordVPN application, Anti-threat protection – that’s its name – is also able to identify dangerous websites. A solution that protects users even when not connected to a VPN.

“The Threat Protection feature replaces antivirus software, and combines it with NordVPN (…) Regardless of your computer and cybersecurity knowledge, you can always come across a dubious website or download a dangerous file. That’s why we developed Threat Protection, to add a layer of security that will make your online browsing ever more secure, efficient and confidential.”comments Vykintas Maknickas, product strategy manager at NordVPN.

To benefit from this function, already available on macOS and being deployed on Windows, you must download the latest version of OpenVPN, then activate the antivirus from the NordVPN application. After NordPass (password manager), NordLocker (secure online storage) and NordLayer (which secures network access), NordVPN is therefore adding a new string to its bow to stand out from competing offers.
