The “The Walking Dead” star has been liking Twitter for some time now from users who think he’s the perfect new ghost rider. Most recently, Norman Reedus shared with the short message service Fan Art of him in the iconic role of the burning skeleton, who hunts for criminals with a chain and on a motorcycle. And in interviews he has already expressed an interest in playing Ghost Rider.
Reedus also already has a prominent supporter: “The Walking Dead” showrunner Angela Kang. She also campaigns for the Daryl actor on Twitter and writes in a tweet: “Just saying … Norman Reedus as Ghost Rider WOULD be rad”. In German: “Norman Reedus as a ghost rider would be crazy.”

From a cinematic point of view, the iconic antihero from Marvel has had a rather bad start: The first adaptation “Ghost Rider”, in which Nicolas Cage played the main role of Johnny Blaze, flopped with both critics and fans. Even worse was the sequel, “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance”, which also hit the box office. Much better, however, was the appearance in the fourth season of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD”: Here Gabriel Luna played the Ghost Rider successor Robbie Reyes in nine episodes.
On the one hand, since there will definitely not be a third Ghost Rider film with Nicolas Cage and the MCU status of Gabriel Luna’s interpretation is at least uncertain, it would at least be possible that Norman Reedus would slip into the role of the Marvel hero for an upcoming project. In view of his filmography, in which he already embodied a few grim antiheroes, that would definitely fit. Unfortunately, no further Ghost Rider project is currently planned.
