Not enough sleep? These foods wake you up!

It is 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon and it breaks out of nothing – the well-known afternoon low. And that is apparently completely resistant to coffee – even if you pour the stuff into you by the liter. The only effect: unpleasant racing heart. But there are foods far from the black concoction that recharge the battery in no time. These are the five best energy suppliers in the fight against fatigue.

1. Eggs

Egg always works! Because eggs help regulate our blood sugar levels. And that's so good because a stable sugar balance burns much less energy. Everything that is now over power can then be used for other, more meaningful things.

2. Green tea

Tea is better than coffee? Definitely! Especially green tea. It fights the tiredness spurts much better than coffee does. The caffeine it contains is processed more slowly by the body and the stimulant effect lasts much longer. On top of that, green tea is also healthy! Because its antioxidants flatten harmful free radicals in our body.

3. Nuts, seeds and kernels

A little snack in between when the hunger picks up? Then you should always have a few nuts, pumpkin seeds and other seeds ready to nibble. They are true protein bombs and give you new energy. There is no chance of fatigue! And by the way, the high-quality fats contained in nuts are also good for head and soul. So awake and balanced – great thing, such a nut.

4. Fish

Awake and beautiful, however, makes fat fish! Sounds kind of gross, but it's the truth. Because oily fish not only does something for our skin, it also prevents inflammation in our body, which can be the reason for fatigue. But be careful: many fish are now contaminated with heavy metal. So it is better to make sure beforehand where the fish that you put in the pan comes from.

5. Dark chocolate

Jaaaaaa. Chocolate! Finally the really good stuff is coming. Especially dark chocolate with a high, high cocoa content provides theobromine for an energy boost that makes us fit for the second half of the day. Those are great prospects in the fight against the wall of fatigue, right?
