Novo Nordisk: investment by Novo Holdings in India


(CercleFinance.com) – Novo Holdings, the controlling holding company of Novo Nordisk, announced on Tuesday that it had completed an investment, the amount of which was not specified, in the Indian hospital group Manipal.

Created in 1991 with the launch of a first establishment in Bangalore, Manipal has grown through a series of acquisitions and today operates a network of 33 private clinics with a capacity of more than 9,500 beds and an annual attendance of ‘around six million patients.

In a press release, Novo Holdings justifies its investment – the largest it has made so far in Asia – by the emergence of a middle class in India and by the improvement of healthcare reimbursement.
