The new generation of GPUs
NVIDIA for Data Centers is slowly unveiling.

Starting last night, NVIDIA launched the GPU Technology Conference 2022 (GTC). As every year, the event will be an opportunity to take stock of certain American technologies and, as a prelude, Videocardz managed to get his hands on some interesting shots.

140 billion transistors

No doubt Hopper will be in the spotlight during this GTC 2022 and the photos recovered by our colleagues already allow us to have a new glimpse of this truly monstrous GPU.

Called H100, this first Hopper generation chip should make it possible to put the Ampere generation A100 in the closet. It is engraved using TSMC’s 5nm process and will more than double the number of transistors compared to the A100. The figure of 140 billion is mentioned.

Unlike the A100, the H100 comes with graphics rendering capabilities through the integration of a Graphics Processing Cluster (GPC) different from the other five. There is also talk of 144 stream multiprocessors. Finally, this monolithic GPU mainly intended for data servers could consume around 1,000 Watts.
