Objects on the shore – large search operation on Lake Faak

On Sunday, a supposedly missing person was searched for at Faaker See. The reason for the search were personal items on the bank that had been parked since Saturday evening.

In the afternoon of last Sunday, the Faak am See water rescue team carried out a search in the area of the settlers’ beach together with the 1/18 Sattendorf mission, the 1/2 Villach mission and several fire brigades. The reason for this was a supposedly missing, possibly drowned person who left his bathing shoes and a clock in the area of the free lake access at the settlers’ beach.

These objects were discovered by passers-by on Saturday evening and were still in the same place the next day. “Our mission divers carried out a dive together with the mission divers from Sattendorf, Villach and the fire service divers. Our place of work served as the meeting point. After a joint meeting, we dropped the divers down in our operational boat Adler 8 and the FF Drobollach boat in the operational area. But we couldn’t find anyone, ”said a lifeguard from Faak.

The area search was limited with the help of marker buoys and ropes, so the area of operation could be searched quickly starting from the settlers’ beach. The search lasted about two hours. “The search showed once again how well working with colleagues works. That is the key. Let’s hope for the best – that Schlapfen and Uhr have simply been forgotten! “
