Obsidian reportedly working on an RPG similar to Disco Elysium

Obsidian has several big projects on the go right now, and is juggling the development of the ambitious Avowed and the rest of The Outer World, which was recently announced. But the studio would also be at work on another project if we are not to believe Jeff grubb, which we no longer present and which received several scoops throughout the year. The journalist then declares that Obsidian is reportedly working on an RPG close to Disco Elysium.

A historic RPG on the rails?

It’s in the latest podcast of XboxEra, relayed by Wccftech, that Grubb speaks of a certain “Project Missouri”, which would be close to the style of Disco Elysium (whatever that may mean), with a whole different universe sinceit would take place in the 16th century, in Europe. This new RPG would be overseen by Josh sawyer, to whom we owe in particular Pillars of Eternity and who worked on Fallout New Vegas.

This project is currently scheduled to be released during the year 2022, without further details. We’ll wait until we have more information to see if this is all true, but given Grubb’s credibility, we’ll be keeping a close eye on this rumor.
