Realme will launch the new Realme GT 2 (Pro) in early January. As stated in a tweet from Sky Li, the founder of Realmes, the new flagships are to appear in China and Europe at the same time.

Realme would like to land a big hit with its “Realme GT 2” series and above all with the Pro model, which will be the brand’s first real flagship. A few days ago, a leak already indicated that Realme’s new smartphone could have a camera under the screen. Now Relame has officially revealed the release date of the new models. Accordingly, the Realme GT 2 will hit the market in early January. However, another interesting detail emerges from this announcement.
Simultaneous sales start in China and Europe
Realme has announced on its official Weibo account that the “Realme GT 2” series will be launched in China on January 4th, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. (local time). Realme’s founder, Sky Li, also announced on Twitter that it was a global launch. In other words, the models will not only start in China, but also on the European market.
The “Realme GT 2” series would therefore come onto the market much earlier than the Realme GT, which was only introduced in June of this year. The brand is following the trend of Xiaomi, who will be launching the Xiaomi 12 in China in just a few days, or OnePlus, which will also be presenting its OnePlus 10 Pro in January.

The first “real” flagship from Realme
According to rumors, the base model Realme GT 2 will have a 6.62-inch FHD + AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is said to be equipped with a triple 50 MP camera module and a 16 MP selfie camera. In contrast to most of its competitors, the standard model is said to be equipped with the Snapadragon 888, which is supported by 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage space. The battery is expected to come with a capacity of 5,000 mAh and should be able to be charged quickly with 65 W.
As for the Realme GT 2 Pro, as already known from previous rumors, it should have a premium design and have a selfie camera under the screen. In addition, the flagship is said to have a 6.7-inch QHD + AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage space as well as a 65 W fast charge. The Realme GT 2 Pro will also have a triple camera module with a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP wide-angle camera and a telephoto lens.
