The trial of four young men suspected of sexual assault in 2017 on Shaïna, a then 13-year-old girl, acts committed two years before she was stabbed and burned alive while pregnant, opened behind closed doors on Monday at Senlis (Oise). The defendants, under judicial supervision, were all minors at the time of the events.
Accused of sexual assault and gang violence
Two of them, including the main suspect, then boyfriend of Shaïna, were 14 years old, the other two 16 and 17 years old.
They arrived on Monday from the back of the court to escape the many journalists present in the waiting room. The trial, which is being held before the criminal court when the three youngest defendants had initially been indicted for rape, is due to last until Tuesday.
These three young men must answer for sexual assault and violence in meetings and for recording pornographic images of a minor. The ex-boyfriend, who faces the heaviest sentence, is also being prosecuted for “serious pressure” to obtain sexual favors from Shaïna.
A complaint filed by the teenager
The gear, according to the complaint filed by the teenager on the evening of the facts, August 31, engages when her boyfriend takes a photo of her naked and uses it to blackmail her. At his request, she joins him in a disused clinic, where he violents her and films her with two other defendants.
Filmed nude and posted on Snapchat
A video showing her partially naked, trying to hide her sex under the insults, was found by the investigators. Images of the scene, posted on Snapchat, earned Shaïna, according to her brother Yasin Hansye, a reputation as an “easy girl”, exposing her to “relentlessness” in her city of Creil.
The oldest of the boys is appearing for a sexual assault committed a week earlier, on August 24. Denounced by Shaïna at the same time as those of the 31st, these facts were attached to the file.
On October 25, 2019, two years after these attacks, Shaïna, pregnant for a few days, was stabbed and then burned alive in a shed in her city. Facts for which another 17-year-old, with whom she had an affair, was indicted.
