OnePlus’ folding smartphone would finally be armed with a 7.8-inch AMOLED main screen at 2K and 120 Hz. On the other hand, the external screen would be a little smaller than expected: 6.3 inches.

We had confirmation at the beginning of the month: OnePlus will in turn launch into folding smartphones. The Chinese company is indeed preparing a OnePlus Fold to compete with the Pixel Fold and other Galaxy Z Fold/Flip. The brand could present this model at the end of July or the beginning of September. In addition, this smartphone would be well marketed in France. New features have been leaked by the site MySmartPrice.

The previous characteristics communicated for the OnePlus Fold

The previous information that circulated reported an internal screen of 8 inches with QHD + definition and an external screen of 6.5 inches with FHD + definition. Both screens were supposed to have a 120Hz refresh rate.

These early rumors also mentioned a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Qualcomm’s chip was supposed to collaborate with 16 GB of LPPDR5, while the advanced internal storage space was 512 GB. On the other hand, the 4,800 mAh battery would have offered 80W wired charging.

Finally, on the camera side, there was talk of a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 48-megapixel wide-angle and a 32-megapixel telephoto lens.

The new specifications of the OnePlus Fold: several changes

The data revealed by the aforementioned source differs from the previous ones. Already, for the screens, it is now a question of 7.8 inches “2K” (internal screen). About the external screen, its diagonal is finally estimated at 6.3 inches. In both cases, the site confirms refresh rates of 120Hz.

The other inconstancy concerns the battery. The 4,800 mAh is still relevant, but wired charging would top out at just 67 W. For comparison, the OnePlus 11 has a 5,000 mAh battery and a 100 W fast charging system. On the other hand, if the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 16 GB of RAM are still required, the internal storage space would ultimately be 256 GB.

Finally, the trio of cameras on the back would consist of a 48-megapixel main sensor, supported by a 48-megapixel ultrawide sensor as well as a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor.
