Victim of a fall during the combined slalom on Thursday, Alexis Pinturault suffered from a “simple contusion of the right shoulder”, the French Olympic Committee said in a press release.
Favorite of the combined, the French skier experienced great disappointment when he came out during the combined slalom on a heavy fall. Appearing in tears and his arm in a sling in front of the press, he feared for the rest of his Games before the medical check-ups.
Following his fall during the Alpine Combined, Alexis Pinturault suffered a trauma to his right shoulder. The assessments are reassuring and confirm a simple contusion of the shoulder. Everything is in place for it to be competitive during the giant slalom on February 13, 2022.

“The clinical and radiological assessments are reassuring, everything is in place for it to be competitive during the giant slalom (on Sunday)”, thus indicated the CNOSF.
After his 11th place in the super-G on Tuesday, “Pintu”, three times Olympic medalist (giant’s bronze in 2014 and 2018, combined silver in 2018), is one of the giant’s favorites on Sunday, then outsiders for the slalom on Wednesday February 16, before a possible participation in the mixed team parallel on the 19th.
The Savoyard, winner of the Big Crystal Globe last year (world No. 1 in 2021) is having a more difficult season, during which he has not yet won a victory.
