On an unmarked trail – Linzerin (49) falls to her death on the Traunstein

During a tour on an unmarked trail on the southern ridge of the Traunstein, a woman from Linz fell to her death on Monday. The crew of the rescue helicopter “Martin 3” arrived quickly, but the alpinist could no longer be helped.

The 49-year-old from Linz set out on a mountain tour on the Traunstein with a 61-year-old mountain friend from St. Georgen an der Gusen at around 9 a.m. on Monday. For the ascent, the two chose an unmarked trail on the south side of the mountain.

At around 12.50 p.m., the woman fell about 80 to 100 meters over steep, rocky terrain at about 1200 meters above sea level. Your companion immediately set the rescue chain in motion. The emergency doctor for the helicopter crew “Martin 3”, who arrived a little later, was only able to determine the woman’s death.
