On Linux, you can customize the Spotify client with your own theme

Even if there was a roundabout way to implement a clearer theme on Spotify, this tinkering was as complex as it was limited. Good news, the Spicetify solution brings more ease and customization possibilities.

Changing the look of the Spotify interface is now possible!

Spicetify provides a bunch of features aimed at making user experience more enjoyable on Spotify. The user can now modify the theme and the colors of his interface. It can also inject CSS and extensions to take advantage of more advanced customization features. It is even possible to install custom applications or remove components to boost platform performance.

By executing command line scripts, the user will be able to enjoy a wide range of themes, including the most famous of all: Dribbblish. The latter is available in several sub-variants. Each theme is made up of two files: the first “color.ini” stores and converts colors into CSS. The second, “user.css”, modifies the appearance of the client interface in order to allow the user to create his own theme.

Note that Spicetify is used on Linux, but is also compatible with Windows and macOS. However, it is only executable from command lines. Finally, to be able to enjoy this customization, it is necessary that the latest official version of Spotify is installed from the repository of the platform, Flatpak or other community repository.
