On the hunt for ants – man sets fire to his own house with a Bunsen burner

A 37-year-old homeowner probably overshot the mark on Tuesday evening in Irschen. With a Bunsen burner he wanted to remove ants from his facade.

While chasing the hard-working little animals, the Dutchman suddenly noticed that smoke was suddenly developing. “The insulation under the facade probably started to burn,” the police said. “The 37-year-old immediately called the fire brigade.” When the Irschen fire brigade arrived at the scene, the Dutchman had already been able to bring the fire under control himself with a fire extinguisher. No other embers were found there was another danger from embers, but was able to give the all-clear. How much the fiery ant hunt will cost the Dutchman is not yet known.
