A fire broke out in a holiday home on the Stolzalpe (Murau district) in the early hours of the morning. Nobody got hurt.
Six holiday guests were staying in the wooden hut at 1,400 meters above sea level when a fire broke out on the ground floor at around 3 a.m. By the time firefighters arrived, those present were trying to put out the fire with fire extinguishers and water. The volunteer fire brigades from Stolzalpe and Murau deployed 19 people and four vehicles and were finally able to bring the flames under control. Luckily there were no injuries. The probable cause of the fire was a smoldering fire, which may have developed due to heat build-up in the wooden partition. The exact amount of damage is not yet known.
