Does Tarantino still have it? Yes, the critics who have had the luck to see “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood”.

Yesterday, Tuesday (May 21), Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood ” celebrated its dazzling world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. If fans are longing for the streak with an absolute top cast already for many months, this forerunner is likely to increase their potential once more, because: The first critics who were allowed to view the film in Cannes speak almost unanimously of a masterpiece.

Robbie Collin of “The Telegraph” and Peter Bradshaw of “The Guardian” give the film five out of five stars and praise both Tarantino’s directorial work and the acting performance of the cast – especially Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. “This duo is simply amazing, it’s two of the best actors of this or any other generation,” says another reviewer. Neither of them had ever been better, so the full-bodied promise from the side “Slash Films” .

It will be shocking

“Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” takes place in 1969 and traces the life and career of a Western star (DiCaprio) and his stunt doubles (Pitt). But the cruel murder of the young actress Sharon Tate (represented by Margot Robbie) by the Manson clan is also discussed in the film. “The Telegraph” speaks in this context of “the most shocking scene in Tarantino’s Filmoraphy” – and that really means something.

Until even normal moviegoers enjoy the movie, which allegedly earned a full six-minute standing ovation at Cannes , there is no need to wait too long. On August 15th of this year “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” will be released in German cinemas.
