One Piece on Netflix: a huge fake connection on Zoro’s sword makes fans scream with laughter

A sword that folds in the middle of combat? This is THE false connection from Netflix’s One Piece that has everyone talking on social networks.

You shouldn’t blink during Luffy (Inaki Godoy), Nami (Emily Rudd) and Zoro’s escape scene from Marine HQ in episode 2 of One Piece. The most attentive fans have in fact noticed a false connection (of a few seconds), during a stunt performed by Mackenyu.

The interpreter of Zoro got all the fans in agreement and became in just one week the darling of Netflix subscribers. It must be said that the young boy with green hair has a particularity: he fights with three sabers, one of which is in his mouth.

It was therefore a real challenge for the Japanese actor to learn choreographies with three swords, he who is used to handling only two katanas. If Mackenyu took the time to learn his stunts, this still results in small errors, including this scene where we see him rolling to dodge a blow from Captain Morgan.

If we watch the video in slow motion, we can very clearly see his sword sheath bending in shock. You shouldn’t be totally surprised by this scene since the actors don’t train with real equipment, to avoid getting injured. These images did not fail to provoke a reaction from those who watched One Piece on Netflix:

Could Zoro’s sword have eaten the same devil fruit as Luffy, the one that gave him elasticity powers? For this user X, there is almost no doubt:

“Guys, Zoro’s sword is made of plastic”

“Why did the sword bend like that?!!”

This is obviously neither the first nor the last time that spectators notice false connections in a series or in a film. Already last June, fans saw a connected watch in the first One Piece trailer. The item has since been deleted in post-production. It will be more complicated, however, for Zoro’s sword!
