OnePlus could unveil its OnePlus Watch 2 at the end of February, during the Mobile World Congress. Unlike the first model, the watch would also benefit from the Wear OS system.
After being the subject of leaks during the month of November, the OnePlus Watch 2 could finally be launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February.
Indeed, according to information from leaker Max Jambor on X (formerly Twitter), the Chinese manufacturer should take advantage of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which will launch on February 26, to officially unveil its second connected watch, the OnePlus Watch 2.
Max Jambor also goes a little further in the information, indicating that he “ looking forward to discovering the next WearOS watch“. Remember that OnePlus’ first connected watch, the OnePlus Watch, featured the open-source RTOS system. The watch therefore did not allow the installation of third-party applications and the uses offered were limited to say the least. For the site MySmartPrice, which initially revealed information about the Watch 2, the watch was designed to feature RTOS. Therefore, a move to Wear OS, like what Xiaomi did with its Watch 2 Pro, would be very good news.
A watch with a high-end positioning
By adopting Google’s Wear OS system, OnePlus should allow users to install a plethora of applications available directly from the Google Play Store. However, this would also mean some sacrifices, particularly in terms of the autonomy of the watch, models running Wear OS very rarely exceeding two to three days of use.
According to information published in November by the siteMysmartPrice, the OnePlus Watch 2 is expected to feature a 1.43-inch diameter circular display. It would also benefit from a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip and would be entitled to a standard bracelet attachment system. The watch would also be entitled, on the edge, to several buttons positioned on a protuberance.
