For season 4 of the comedy-drama “Only Murders in the Building,” Oliver, Charles and Mabel plan to leave Arconia for sunny California.
Notice to Only Murders in the Building: the three heroes – Oliver, Charles and Mabel – will leave the iconic building of the series. The upcoming season of the crime comedy will see Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez leave their cozy Arconia apartment building, and therefore New York City, for the glitz and glamor of Los Angeles.
In an interview with DeadlineDisney Television Group Chairman Craig Erwich announced the change of setting for the series:
“I’m very excited to see Steve, Martin and Selena move away from the building and come to Los Angeles. In the same way that John Hoffman used Broadway as a backdrop to tell what I think is one of the most unique seasons you’ll ever see, the same unique approach to Only Murders will be applied to Los Angeles, which really makes me happy.“
Craig Erwich has also remained very discreet about other developments in season 4, of which he has read several completed scripts. However, there is talk of a potential return of Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), who made her debut in season 3 as the star of Oliver Putnam’s (Martin Short) Broadway production and subsequently became, his girlfriend.
During the third season finale, she received several offers for roles in Los Angeles. Although Oliver seems determined to stay in New York, his position may have changed, especially in light of the bloody conclusion of season 3 which closed with yet another death.
Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building is currently in production and does not yet have an air date.
