Oliver Putnam is in great difficulty to defend his musical comedy project, in episode 3 ofOnly Murders in the Building. He tries desperately to compose his showstopperher killer song, in other words the hit, the highlight of the show which would be listened to in a loop, applauded who better. Luckily, Loretta saves him by performing his ballad — a sweet lullaby — to perfection. There is an amusing paradox: for the Disney+ series itself, Meryl Streep performing a song is, in itself, a show stopper.
Look for the Light was composed by big names
This is a real composition created especially for the series. Look for the light, its title, was written by huge Broadway celebrities. Sara Bareilles first, author-composer-performer of indie music. We remember his Love Song in 2007, the title has since made 112 million views. The duo Pasek & Paul then, who simply won the Golden Globe for best film music for their work on La La Land ; and we also owe them the flagship title of The Greatest Showman. In the interpretation, finally, we find Meryl Streep, Ashley Park, as well as the whole cast for the choirs.

Meryl Streep as an unrecognized actress, surprise of this season 3
From the start of season 3, the series took us by surprise. The first scene introduces Loretta, an unrecognizable actress who trim to be. She is even despised by the main actor of the play led by Oliver. Loretta happens to be played by… Meryl Streep, probably one of the most famous and recognized actresses in contemporary cinema. Only Murders in the Building is constantly amused by this funny paradox.
Episode 3 is not to be outdone: we witness a Loretta thrilled to have finally been cast for “the spin-off of a spin-off of Grey’s Anatomy”, to play a secondary character, a parent. Jesse Williams, present in the cast of this season (he plays Tobert) and former well-known head of Grey’s Anatomy, himself had fun with this idea. In an interview, showrunner John Hoffman confides that Jesse Williams accomplished a “ dream ” seeing Meryl Streep play an actress perceiving her role in Grey’s Anatomy as a consecration.
This season 3 definitely has many surprises in store for us. metas and winks. Episode 2 embarked Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Jason Veasey in a jazzy number of dancing and singing, in direct reference to All That Jazz (Let the show begin in VF).
