Open championships – Gut Altentann invites the elite to a golf highlight

For the second time in a row, the largest national golf tournament is taking place in Salzburg. In 2020 the local elite were guests at the open championship in Zell am See, this year they are teeing off at the picturesque Gut Altentann in Henndorf.

On the place where the first Austrian Open took place over 30 years ago. While in Zell, Bernd Wiesberger (winner at the time) and Matthias Schwab, even the two best Austrian golfers took part due to the corona pandemic, this year other aces can play their part in Gut Altentann. Some people from Salzburg also have good cards.

On the first of four laps on Thursday, Lukas Lipold was particularly convincing. The 27-year-old played three under par on the difficult course and is in the top field. “I’m satisfied with my round and hope that I can have a say in the title fight,” said Lipold, who emphasized: “It’s nice that such a big and important tournament is taking place at home in Salzburg. Gut Altentann is a worthy place. ”In addition to Lipold, Hans-Peter Bacher also sees good chances. Amelie Svejda and Anna Neumayer are among the favorites for women.
