Operation in Graz – nightly fire: three people in the hospital

A fire in a stairwell called the Graz fire brigade into action during the night. Three people were hospitalized with suspected smoke inhalation.

It was shortly after midnight when the men from the Graz professional fire brigade moved out to Andritz. In a residential complex, the entire stairwell was under thick clouds of smoke, which had already penetrated some apartments. Wearing heavy breathing apparatus, the firefighters were able to quickly locate the source of the fire: an electrical distributor had caught fire and filled the entire house with smoke. The fire was extinguished after a few minutes. Ten people treated The emergency services tackled the smoke using a high-performance fan. Nevertheless, ten people, some of whom had already slept in their apartments, had to be taken care of by the rescue team. Three people even had to go to the hospital with suspected smoke inhalation. The fire called a total of 23 firefighters in five vehicles. Work is now being carried out to quickly restore the power supply in the affected residential complex.
