At the end of July, Oppo confirmed the development and the upcoming release of its next connected watch, the Oppo Watch 3. The Chinese manufacturer thus followed the announcement of the latest chip for connected watches from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon W5, whose watch will be endowed.

From now on, we know a little more about this future digital toquante from Oppo. New information has indeed been leaked in recent days about the watch, as reported by the site Android Police.

We already knew that Oppo was going to equip its Watch 3 with the Snapdragon W5, the manufacturer communicated on Tuesday August 2 more about it. In a publication on the Chinese social network Weibo, Oppo recalls that its Watch 3 will be the first watch on the market to take advantage of the new Qualcomm chip. Furthermore, according to information from the leaker often well-informed Digital Chat Station, still on Weibo, the Oppo Watch 3 should be formalized next week, Wednesday August 10.

Two new Oppo watches expected

Especially the leaker chinese shared on Weibo a first rendering of the Oppo Watch 3. We can thus discover a design quite similar to that of the two previous connected watches from the Chinese manufacturer, the Oppo Watch and Oppo Watch 2. The watch would take up an aesthetic rather inspired by the Apple Watch with a square screen and a button on the right side.

We can also make out what appears to be a speaker grille and a microphone. In addition, at least two models seem to be on the agenda with a watch with fairly flat edges and another with a more tapered case. The same goes for the case, as the classic model is expected to be compatible with a standard pin strap system, complete with lugs, while the premium model would adopt a proprietary strap system with a leather version.

For the time being, we still do not know the characteristics of the Oppo Watch 3. We also do not know what the onboard operating system will be. If we can count on a launch in China with RTOS, remember that the Snapdragon W5 is also compatible with Wear OS. We could thus be entitled to a subsequent launch in the rest of the world with the Google operating system. However, we will have to wait until August 10 before knowing more about Oppo’s next watches.
