The Styrian band Opus stood on stage for almost 50 years. This should end at the end of 2021.
"Live is Life" was their biggest hit: After almost 50 years in the music business, the Styrian band Opus have now announced their departure. The chapter Opus is not expected to end until the end of 2021. Until then, a new album and a series of farewell concerts are planned.
"We had unbelievable national and international success as an Austrian band and are very proud and grateful to have given so many millions of people joy with our music," said a statement by the band that was published on Facebook, among other places.
One last album
In order to say goodbye to the fans, the band around the two remaining founding members Ewald Pfleger (65, vocals) and Kurt-René Plisnier (63, keyboard) released one last album. The double CD "Opus Magnum" will be released in November 2020. The first single "Made My Day" will be heard on Friday (August 28th).
