The promising Ora Cat arrives in the United Kingdom in 2022, and we learn a little more about its price and its technical characteristics, which are interesting to say the least.
Scheduled for autumn 2022 in the United Kingdom, the Ora Cat and its atypical look will land with great fanfare with an exclusive version at launch: the Funky Cat First Edition. Let’s take a look at its features and price.
310 kilometers of autonomy for 36,000 euros
The 4.23 meter long city car from the Ora GMW group will carry a 48 kWh battery to propose a autonomy in the WLTP cycle of 310 kilometers according to the manufacturer’s data. The 0 to 100 km/h is announced in 8.3 seconds, thanks to a 126 kW (171 horsepower) engine located at the front of the vehicle.
On the fast charging side, the 15-80% should last 42 minutes in ideal conditions, with peak charging power up to 80 kW. The 11 kW on-board charger will ensure a full charge in about five hours on a suitable Wallbox.
The price announced after the equivalent of the English ecological bonus is 30,495 pounds for the Ora Funky Cat First Edition, or around 36,000 euros. If we assume that this includes the current ecological bonus of 6,000 euros, this would give a launch price in France around 42,000 euros.
It is therefore not a first price electric car that this Ora Cat in the Funky Cat First Edition version would be, since with a 48 kWh battery and a city car size, it would be more expensive than a Renault Zoe or a Peugeot e -208, while offering less autonomy.
The equipment included with this First Edition will however be substantial, since there will be adaptive cruise control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 360-degree view thanks to the cameras located around the vehicle, or even two interior screens of 10.25 inches.
Four colors will be available at launch (light green, black, dark green and red) for the bodywork, and combinations using the exterior color will be offered for the interior trim. Finally, Ora wishes to reassure by displaying 5 year warranty (unlimited mileage) for the whole car, and 8 years or 160,000 kilometers for the battery.
