This week, Orange lowered the price of its Livebox Up Fiber and Max Fiber offers, the two most expensive. But compared to the previous promotional offer, this reduction is not advantageous.

This is rare enough to be highlighted: an Internet service provider, in this case Orange, has lowered the price of two of its Livebox offers. Except that due to promotional periods or free months which help to encourage consumers to subscribe, prices have increased compared to previous months. Clubic explains why.

Orange lowers the price of two Liveboxes during promotional period

After marketing its first fiber and smart TV offer, Orange decided this week to lower the price of its mid- and high-end fixed offers, namely Livebox Up Fiber and Livebox Max. The entry-level offer, the Livebox Fiber, remains at 24.99 euros/month for 6 months then 42.99 euros/month, with a 12-month commitment. What about the others?

Regarding the Livebox Up Fiber offer, its base price remains the same: 51.99 euros/month over 12 months. But the customer who subscribes benefits from a promotional period which has just gone from 33.99 euros/month for 6 months to 29.99 euros/month for 6 months. That’s a saving of 24 euros over the first year of subscription.

As for the Livebox Max Fiber offer, its base price also remains the same, namely 57.99 euros/month for one year. But the consumer who subscribes to the latter benefits from a promotional period falling from 39.99 euros to 34.99 euros/month for 6 months. That’s a significant saving of 30 euros over the first 12 months of subscription.

But you will see that Orange is rather naughty and that, although attractive on paper, this gift follows a present that was… simply more generous.

But the historic operator ends the two months offered

From the beginning of March until now, Livebox Up Fiber and Max Fiber prices were higher. As for the Livebox Up Fiber, the 6-month promotional period cost a total of 203.94 euros. Today, it drops to 179.94 euros. Except that at that time, Orange offered two months of subscription to the customer. By doing the calculation, we therefore realize that the Livebox Up Fiber offer cost 447.90 euros over 12 months, compared to 491.88 euros now.

The observation is unfortunately the same for the Livebox Max Fiber. The 6-month promotional period cost 239.94 euros. Today, it only reaches 209.94 euros. But just a few days ago, Orange also offered two months of subscription. So the Livebox Max Fiber offer cost 507.90 euros, when it now costs 557.88 euros.

As for the entry-level offer with Livebox 5, the Livebox Fiber subscription, it is even worse since the promotional rate and the fixed rate remain unchanged, while customers had, not long ago, two months also offered. So think about it before committing, especially if the quality of service, excellent at Orange, is not a priority on your side.
