THE internet service providers (ISP) do not have many possibilities to attract new customers. Overall, either they offer subscription offers at attractive pricesor they reveal a new materialwhether it is an Internet box or a TV decoder. Orange did so recently by releasing the Livebox 7. However, it remains very close to its predecessor the Livebox 6. The major difference is that the 7 is compatible with the technology XGS-PONthis evolution of optical fiber which can sometimes reach the 10 Gbits/s downstream.

But if the box is new, the same cannot be said of the operator’s TV decoder. No updated version, you have to settle for the UHD TV decoder available since 2018. Its components and interface are starting to get old, especially since it doesn’t even run under Android TV. Orange has nevertheless released a new 4K TV decoder, except that if you look on the operator’s site, it does not appear. The reason is simple: at present, it is accessible… in Poland only.

Orange unveils a new 4K TV decoder you can’t ask for

Appointed Dekoder 4K Multi, it is similar in design to the Livebox 6 and 7, with its fabric covering. Unlike the French model, it is Wi-Fi 6 compatibleand turns under Android TV 12. Offering this interface to us would be a radical change, but nothing suggests that Orange is considering it.
