Orange signs a new intergenerational agreement for the period 2022-2024

(Boursier.com) – Orange signed a new intergenerational agreement with 3 trade unions CFDT F3C, FO COM and SUD PTT covering the period 2022-2024. This agreement, which will come into force on January 1, 2022, proposes measures to promote the integration of young people as well as support for employees in the middle or end of their career.
Orange is committed to recruiting at least 8,000 permanent contracts for the Group in France over the period 2022-2024, in line with the trajectories of the Engage 2025 strategic plan. Concerned with supporting the younger generations, Orange will pay particular attention to the recruitment of employees under 30 years of age in operational functions and digital professions. Committed to the integration of young people in France, Orange is also continuing its actions in favor of work-study programs.

At the same time, Orange wishes to offer new perspectives to employees wishing to anticipate their retirement or rethink their last parts of their career by taking time for themselves and for others. Orange is therefore offering a new attractive Senior Part-Time scheme from January 1, 2022 until January 1, 2023. This voluntary-based scheme allows eligible employees to organize their working time over a period of 18 to 60 months prior to their retirement. Depending on the employee’s wishes, this formula may be open to skills sponsorship.

A “breathing” will be offered to mid-career employees in order to take a break from their activity. On a voluntary basis, they will be able to enroll in a university cycle or training unrelated to their professional activity, to become involved with associations, to provide training in schools, universities, research institutes or to contribute to projects in start-ups or SMEs, for a period of 3 to 12 months.

Through this innovative system, the Group wishes to offer the opportunity to experience a new personal and professional adventure, to develop new knowledge, new working methods or the ability to adapt to a new environment.

On the occasion of the signing of this intergenerational agreement, Gervais Pellissier, Deputy CEO, People & Transformation of Orange declared: “The company of tomorrow is being built now. I am delighted that the quality of the social dialogue carried out with the unions leads to the signing of this agreement which will concern all the generations present at Orange, and even beyond, with the young people who will join us in the years to come. This agreement illustrates our ambition to invent a new social model allowing it is up to each and every one to project themselves with confidence and serenity into their future professional life, while meeting the challenges of the Group’s growth. The period of health and economic crisis that we are going through confirms us in the conviction that has driven us for ten years: l human is, and remains, at the heart of our collective success! “

This new intergenerational agreement illustrates Orange’s capacity for social innovation in the face of the major challenges facing the Group. First of all, a generational and cultural challenge, given the evolution of the group’s age pyramid and the need to find a balance between generations and functions within the company. Next, a skills challenge, in order to anticipate and support the development of digital professions, to strengthen its positions in high-growth activities such as cyber defense, AI, and even data.
Orange intends to meet these challenges while dealing with changes in its business model and continuing to invest in the networks of tomorrow.
