Schumacher already has the sensation in his head
Mick Schumacher is on the home straight of his first Formula 1 season. The son of record world champion Michael Schumacher is still without a championship point, there is no doubt about his quality. Not even with him. There is no shortage of ambitious goals in the short or long term.
The world championship title in the premier class of motorsport is a realistic goal for Formula 1 newcomer Mick Schumacher. “Definitely. Otherwise I would be in the wrong sport. I already have the feeling that I can make it to become world champion one day,” said the 22-year-old in a “Sportbuzzer” interview. “If I didn’t have the feeling, I would take a car away from someone else to just roll along. That is not the case. Mick Schumacher is very proud of his father. “I have a lot of respect for what dad has done. Although that was already quite clear to me when I started. Because the road to Formula 1 alone is tough, consists of a lot of work and a lot of overtime,” said Haas -Pilot. “That my dad managed to do this with so much success over so many years makes me proud and encourages me,” said Mick Schumacher. After 19 races this season, twelfth place is his best result so far.
The quality of Schumacher is not measured in the results alone, but his car is inferior. At the traditional Ferrari racing team, to which Schumacher still belongs and where he is to succeed his father at some point, the situation is extremely satisfied. “We coach him and support his development. He is doing well,” said team boss Mattia Binotto recently. Everything is going according to plan. “Before the season, the main goal was for him to learn and develop, and that’s exactly what he’s doing. For the remaining three races of this season, Schumacher has a smaller goal, which is ambitious in view of the relentless inferiority of his Haas: the first world championship point of his career. “We’ll do our best to get this point,” promised Schumacher.
