our opinion on DASH Water, the new sugar-free and calorie-free sodas

With their ultra-clean compositions and colorful packaging, DASH Water drinks promise a fruity taste without added sugar, without sweeteners and without calories.

Too rich in sugar, ultra-processed or containing controversial ingredients (aspartame, acesulfame-K), the compositions of soft drinks are often criticized because they are considered bad for health… Good news, the British brand DASH Water, specialized in sugar-free and calorie-free soft drinks arrives in France.

After setting up shop at the Grande Épicerie du Bon Marché last October, the brand is gradually expanding its presence in our territory. It is also available online, on sites such as Amazon and Kazidomi. The particularity of these drinks: an ultra-clean compositionrefreshing and fruity flavors reminiscent of our favorite sodas, all in ultra-attractive colorful packaging.

Natural soft drinks without sugar or sweeteners

The composition of these drinks is impeccable: sparkling spring water, natural flavors, fruit extracts and citric acid. In terms of nutritional values, the contributions are almost zero, with 1Kcal to 2Kcal and 0.5g of carbohydrates per 100ml of product.

DASH Water also offers an anti-waste approach by using “ugly”, deformed, twisted or crushed fruits in its drinks, often neglected by traditional circuits. The cans and bottles used by the brand are all recyclable and made from recycled materials… Truly flawless!

What are these new sugar-free sodas really worth?

Don’t expect the taste of lemonade or an industrial fruity soda, but rather that of sparkling water in which you have infused fresh fruit. Consumed very cold, these drinks are truly thirst-quenching and very pleasant! Visually, they are completely transparent because they do not contain any industrial coloring, and can be reminiscent of classic sparkling water.

Fortunately, their colorful, very aesthetic packaging completely compensates for this lack of color in the drink, and gives the impression of consuming a “real” soda. A good alternative for those watching their weight who have diabetes or cholesterol problems.

The only problems, in our opinion: the distribution network is still a little restricted, and the price is a little high (between €1.50 and €2.50 per can depending on the resellers).
