After conquering viewers and critics alike when it was launched last May on the Disney+ platform, the Oussekine mini-series recently received several awards which reaffirm the many qualities of this successful fiction!
In 2022, Disney+ lifted the veil on its very first original French productions. From the family comedy Week-end Family to the fantastic series Para//èles, without forgetting Les Amateurs and the documentary series dedicated to Soprano, the platform has bet on a nice mix of themes and genres.
Among these novelties, the mini-series Oussekine, created and directed by Antoine Chevrollier, particularly marked the spirits. In 4 episodes, she returns to the tragic events of the night of December 5 to 6, 1986 which led to the death of student Malik Oussekine, in Paris.
The first work of fiction to recount the case in detail, more than 35 years after the events, it has also been widely acclaimed by critics.
On November 15, this moving drama thus received several distinctions at the 8th edition of the awards ceremony of the French Association of Series Critics: Best 52” series, Best screenplay and Best production!
The actress Mouna Soualem, who plays Sarah, the sister of the victim, was also rewarded for her poignant performance, the mini-series highlighting with great accuracy the consequences of this tragedy on the family of the deceased.

However, this is not the only ceremony to have distinguished Oussekine in recent weeks: the C21 International Drama Awards, awarded by a jury made up of professionals in the field (producers, investors, etc.), awarded the French production the prize for Best casting for a drama series.
On screen, Sayyid El Alami plays Malik Oussekine. He is surrounded by Hiam Abbass in the role of the young man’s mother, and Mouna Soualem, Naidra Ayadi, Malek Lamraoui and Tewfik Jallab, who play his brothers and sisters. Kad Merad, Olivier Gourmet and Thierry Godard also star in the series.
