“Outlander” star Sam Heughan was born with a love of fantasy stories. His name even comes straight from “The Lord of the Rings” by JRR Tolkien!
As a mix of romance, drama, historical epic and science fiction, “Outlander” is extremely varied and is probably why it is so popular. Lead actor Sam Heughan, however, is enthusiastic about a completely different genre, as he revealed in an interview with Audible.
Heughan was born with a love of fantasy stories because his parents were big fans of JRR Tolkien and were part of the “Gandalf’s Garden” community, a London hippie movement. That’s why Sam Heughan was named after Sam from “The Lord of the Rings”, his brother Cirdan Heughan owes his name to an elf.
After Outlander, Heughan would have time for Rings of Power
A fantasy role is therefore high on Sam Heughan’s wish list and the perfect project could already have been found with the Amazon series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”.
I still desperately want to be an elf or a dwarf. So if “The Rings of Power” is still looking for actors, I’m available! I even have a redhead wig if you’re interested.

Season 2 of “The Rings of Power” has already been filmed, but since a total of 5 seasons are planned, there is definitely enough time to accommodate Heughan in a small guest role – or even in a leading role. After “Outlander” Season 8, Heughan finally has a free schedule.
