Over after 28 years – Innsbruck: Fruchthof will close at the end of April

An Innsbruck institution is closing. As has now been announced, the Fruchthof in the east of the city will close its doors forever at the end of April. The German operator of the market is withdrawing from Tyrol and the building is being demolished.

For many people, the “gourmet market” on Josef-Wilberger-Straße has been a household name since they were little. A wide variety of foods have been offered there since 1996. “The claim from back then still applies today and is constantly being pushed forward: honest enjoyment makes no compromises,” it says on the company’s website. But that will soon be over. As has now become known, the German operator of the Fruchthof is withdrawing and closing its doors at the end of April. That’s not all: the building will then be razed to the ground and demolished.
