It was without doubt one of the most anticipated games of the end of the year. Overwatch 2 finally arrived on consoles and PC this week. But its release did not go without a hitch…

Announced at BlizzCon 2019, Overwatch 2 finally took three more years to reach us. Many players were impatiently waiting for this Tuesday, October 4, 2022 to discover Blizzard’s new competitive FPS. Unfortunately, nothing went as planned since technical problems caused quite a mess!

Whose fault is it ?

Thus, many players have been unable to connect to the game servers. Connection attempts have been failing frequently for several hours now. On Twitter, Blizzard Entertainment boss Mike Ybarra provided an explanation. Large-scale DDoS attacks are singled out. The development teams are actively working to calm the situation.

So if you’re currently unable to join a game server, it’s probably because of the attacks in question. We hope for a return to normal in the next few hours. Let’s remember thatOverwatch 2 is playable in free-to-play on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Switch.
