The year 2024 started with the surprising and massive success of Palworld. Will it last over time? Everything will depend on the developers’ ability to feed the game with content likely to captivate players. The roadmap has been known from the beginning and brings together many more or less interesting activities. The addition of a raid, made official in a tweet published on April 4is one of them — and perhaps it will boost traffic (which has fallen in recent weeks).
The PC and Xbox versions of Palworld have actually received a big update, which includes several big new features. In its communication, the PocketPair studio first focuses on what it calls “the first Boss Raid”, an event intended for the best equipped and prepared adventurers. It will allow us to discover a new Pal, called Bellanoir and which we can see in motion in a trailer released a few weeks ago.
What is a raid in Palworld?
Obviously, Bellanoir will be a hostile creature, which will have to be fought and defeated to complete the raid. Players will be able to make it appear using a type of crystal on a new summoning altar. From a design point of view, Bellanoir is reminiscent of the Pokémon Gardevoir, but in a much more evil (some would say gothic) version. Since its launch, Palworld is often accused of copying Pokémon, without being pursued by the courts.
“ Raid Pals summoned by crystals are very powerful and cannot be captured », Informs Pocketpair. You will then have to team up with your Pals to have a chance of getting rid of them, obviously at the end of an epic confrontation. And if Bellanoir cannot be captured, there is still a chance that he will drop Pals eggs after he breathes his last. So the reward may be worth it. The raid is recommended for those who have reached a very high level.
Note that there will also be an extreme version of the boss, with much greater difficulty. In the future, Palworld will offer other raids and other bosses. In addition, fans can reserve part of the summer, since a new island, weapons, buildings and Pals never seen before will be integrated in the coming months. We recall that Palworld is currently available in early access, meaning that the developers are still working on it before releasing the final version (which will be greatly improved and cleaned of several major bugs). This step does not prevent the game from already offering hours and hours of gameplay.
