NEWS THE FIGARO- After the adoption of the pension reform text last night, spontaneous demonstrations brought together several thousand people across the country. 234 people were arrested in the capital.

234 arrests were made by the police in Paris on Monday evening, for 240 “deliberate damage by fire” observed, learned Le Figaro from a police source.

After the rejection of the two motions of censure tabled by the opposition in the Assembly, and the adoption of the text of the pension reform, wild demonstrations gathered several thousand people yesterday evening throughout the country.

Significant damage was committed on the sidelines or during these mobilizations. Garbage cans were set on fire, particularly in the Opéra and Bastille districts of the capital, and billboards broken.
