The scent of chestnuts, Baumkuchen and punch is in the air and spreads a Christmas atmosphere in the heart of the Wachau. As part of the Krems Advent magic, Christmas huts with all sorts of handicrafts and culinary delights as well as 200 lovingly decorated shops are lined up along the country’s longest Christmas shopping mile. Over 500,000 lights illuminate the medieval old town with its magical facades, small streets and special restaurants.
