At around 3:30 a.m., a car crashed into a police car on Bernstrasse in Schlieren ZH. The hoods of both vehicles were dented. Another black car was totaled. According to eyewitnesses, the accident may have been preceded by a car chase.
Rescue workers arrived at the scene of the accident immediately and tried unsuccessfully to free a person trapped in the black car. After about an hour, the apparently injured person was freed and emergency care was taken on site. It is unclear what condition the person is in.
The Zurich canton police confirmed the operation at the intersection at Rietpark in Schlieren to Blick, but did not want to comment on the accident and its course. A media bulletin is to be issued in the morning. (kes)
