Past the police – drove on with a destroyed car

A 24-year-old from Pinzgau wanted to continue driving his accident-damaged car on Sunday morning – until a police patrol stopped him.

Early on Sunday morning, a 24-year-old from Pinzgau came off the road with his car on the B165 near Mittersill and then ran over a traffic island, skidded and hit a curb there. Despite a torn oil pan and badly damaged tires, the man from Pinzgau continued on his way. A police patrol happened to be nearby and heard the noise of the accident acoustically. When the officers wanted to see that everything was okay, the driver of the accident drove past the patrol. The police started chasing and stopped the driver of the accident after a short time. An alcohol test carried out on the 24-year-old was positive with 1.52 per mille. His driver’s license was taken from him on the spot. The Pinzgauer is displayed. The volunteer fire brigade had to bind the spilled oil and clean the roadway.
